Transportation Fuel Surchages
Fuel surcharges have been part of the industry since the mid-1970’s when the U.S. Department of Energy attempted to compensate carriers for the increase fuel prices during the OPEC oil crisis era. Each week, thousands of fuel suppliers submit the price per gallon for gas and diesel. An average fuel cost is then calculated and delivered to carriers across the nation.
All Resort Group, from time to time, may have to charge a fuel surcharge due to increases in fuel prices. This charge is often an additional charge to the passenger who ordered the transportation services. If fuel charges have not increased, then the passenger will not necessarily incur fuel surcharges.
